Jim is a rock star

Jim is out of surgery. I haven't seen him yet, but both the neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist came by and said he did great! The neurosurgeon was very happy about the outcome (more on this later), and the anesthesiologist said Jim was among the easiest awake craniotomy patients he's had. Jim was awake most of the time, worked well with the electrophysiologist for the brain mapping (e.g., answered questions, followed commands), and was steady and calm the whole time. He did everything except reach in and assist with the surgery itself!

Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please keep them coming.

(our time stamp was set to Pacific time...I have changed it to Eastern. Sorry for the confusion).

  1. Hi Jim and family. I'm Megan (Riegelsberger) Younoszai, a high school classmate of Jim's. Until today, I hadn't heard about Jim and what you are all going through. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts, and will check in regularly to hear how you are doing. When I was 13 years old, I had a brain hemmorhage and multiple surgeries--I hope for you the same amazing care that I had.
    Peace!

  4. You know that everyone at St A's was pulling for you all day! There was a huge sigh of relief when Marcie's text message came through...not that we would have accepted or expected anything but success for someone with a will of steel! Two thumbs up to all involved! BL

  6. As an anesthesiologist, I can say that I am not surprised at all to hear that Jim was a perfect patient. I am so happy for you all that things went well.

  7. I am glad to hear things went so well. Please let me know if you need a hand around the house in the few weeks (Lawn or whatever) I know those little things take time and add up.
